Drive to Pokhara, nestled in the foothills of the Annapurna range. The stunning Machhapuchhre, also known as “Fishtail Mountain”, seems almost close enough to touch, and behind it loom the many peaks of the Annapurna’s, several of them amongst the highest mountains in the world. With its spectacular setting, natural beauty, and relaxed atmosphere, Pokhara is an ideal place to unwind. Overnight at Resort or similar.
A free day to explore Pokhara and its surrounds. There are some interesting short walks or bicycle rides from Pokhara or you can swim and canoe on Lake Phewa or just watch the last rays of the sun stream across the dip in the mountains that hold the lake. Drive to Chitwan National Park. Located in the plains of south central Nepal, it is one of the best places in the Indian subcontinent to see many different wildlife species in their natural habitat. The park is one of the last refuges of the endangered one-horned Indian rhino and there are sizeable populations of tigers, leopards and rare Gangetic dolphins. You can explore the park on foot, canoe or on elephant. Overnight stay at Village Lodge or similar.
NA full day to explore Chitwan. The greatest thrill at Chitwan is an elephant-back safari in search of wildlife. Seeing a rhino from atop an elephant is an experience not to be missed.
